F.A.Q.

  • What is your birth philosophy?
    • I believe that women's bodies were made to give birth. In our culture there is so much fear surrounding birth and I want to help you feel confident and safe as you are preparing for you dream birth, whatever that looks like for you.
  • What is your main goal as a doula?
    • My goal as your doula is to help you feel safe and confident as you prepare for and experience birth. I believe that birth can be such an empowering thing. It can empower you as they begin or continue your journey through motherhood and it can strengthen your relationship with your partner. I do not want to take the place of your partner, I actually want to help your partner feel confident during your birth so that they can more better support you.  We sometimes forget that partners are also becoming parents and this can come with it's own emotions for them during the birth process.
  • What areas do you serve?
    • I'm located in Lehi, Utah and serve all of Utah and Salt Lake counties and will also serve surrounding counties but prices may be adjusted depending on drive length.
  • Do you have a back up doula?
  • How can I pay you?
    • I accept cash, check, Venmo, Paypal and HSA payments. I also accept payment plans so contact me if you have any questions about creating a payment plan for doula services.
  • What made you want to have a home birth?
    • A very close friend of mine gave birth at a birth center before I was pregnant with my first and her experience sounded so beautiful so I started researching out of hospital births. When becoming pregnant our family felt that giving birth at home was right for us as long as myself and our baby was healthy. We picked a stellar birth team and were blessed with two healthy babies.
  • Do you think everyone should give birth at home or a birth center?
    • I think a woman should give birth where ever and however she feels safe and comfortable. As January Harshe from BirthWithoutFear said,

"I do not care what kind of birth you have...a homebirth, scheduled cesarean, epidural hospital birth, or if you birth alone in the woods next to a baby deer. I care that you had options, that you were supported in your choices, and that you were respected."

    • Where are you from?
      • I was born and raised in Virginia and grew up in a small town called Powhatan. My husband is also from Virginia and our dream is to move back one day and open a Farm Sanctuary.
    • What do you like to do for fun?
      • I have two young children so most of my time is spent playing with them. At the end of the day when they are asleep I like to read (major Harry Potter fan) and relax in front of Netflix (Gilmore Girls is commonly on, despite my husband's dislike for everything Lorelai). I also enjoy cooking and trying new types of food and on a perfect day I will be outside most of it. I love being in the mountains, in the forest, and by the beach!
