Hello! My name is Charity Wheeler. I am married to my best friend and have three beautiful children—a ten year old daughter, eight year old son and four year old daughter. Motherhood has changed my life and stretched me in a way I didn't know possible (other than when giving birth—haha, a little birth humor for ya).
My love of birth began in 2011 after attending a childbirth class in preparation of trying to get pregnant and I have since attended 65 births as a doula.
All of my children were born in the water at home and based on my experiences I think that birth can change the world. I feel passionate that every woman should have a conscious birth and do so in a place that she feels most safe and comfortable, whether that is in a hospital, birth center or at home. I was blessed to have one doula at my first birth and two at my second. My doula's provided me with physical, mental, and emotional support through my pregnancies, births and postpartum. My husband also loved how much support and guidance was given to him during our children's births. Because of my doulas my husband was more confident and able to be there to support me better. My doula's helped make my births positive and beautiful experiences for my family and because of the love and compassion I received from these amazing women I want to provide that same support to others. I believe every mother and father should be able to have a doula at their birth.
